38' Cruiser Complete Thruster System
After struggling with docking in windy marina conditions, I decided to install both bow and stern thrusters for complete control of my 38-foot cruiser. The project took approximately 3 weekends to complete, with most of the time spent on careful planning and precise cutting of the bow tunnel.
The bow thruster installation required cutting a tunnel through the hull below the waterline, while the stern thruster was mounted externally on a custom bracket near the swim platform. Both units are powered by dedicated battery banks with heavy-gauge marine cable and appropriate fusing.
